The issues that affect Grace's life affect millions of children across Africa.

Grace Zani lives in the small community of Mpinganjira in the Mangochi district of Malawi. She lives with her grandmother and brother in a simple thatched house. Grace is well known and liked throughout throughout her community. Most of the people in her district are poor, but with the ongoing support of Save the Children Grace and other children like her are able to go to school.

The biggest threats to children in Africa remains HIV/Aids, inadequate food supplies, conflict and lack of education. Together they can have devastating effects on the lives of Children in Africa. At the root of all these threats is poverty. If family's don't have the practical means to grow food, stay healthy, gain access to education and rebuild shattered lives, the future of so many children will hang in the balance.
