We believe that the welfare of children isn't a privilege, it's a right.
We never shy away from the difficult, dangerous or controversial issues ─ whether it's providing a safe haven for girls born into brothels in Bangladesh, implementing HIV prevention programs or addressing instances of child exploitation.
The UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (based on a treaty written by our founder, Eglantyne Jebb), which obliges governments to respect, protect and fulfil children's rights, underpins all our work.
In partnership with local communities, we manage programs specialising in child protection, education, health , HIV and AIDS, emergencies and child rights advocacy.
