Where We Work

Papua New Guinea

Violence against children and their family members

Save the Children in partnership with Eastern Highlands Family Voice provided counseling support and referral services to more than one thousand girls, boys and their mothers and fathers who are a victims of domestic violence, sexual assaults including rape, child abuse, neglect and desertion in Goroka and Kainantu.

With our support, Family Voice has also conducted awareness campaigns targeting hundreds of families on these issues.  In partnership with Family Voice, we have also reached out to more than 10,000 girls and boys educating them on their rights.

In Port Moresby, we worked in partnership with Haus Ruth. With our support, they managed to provide temporary accommodation, counseling and legal advice to thousands of mothers and children victims of domestic violence.

Save the Children’s work contributes to reducing the number of incidences of violence and the impact of violence in the lives of girls and boys.
