Children have the right to join in the decisions made about their own futures.

Save the Children Australia remains focused on programs that directly benefit the lives of children and their communities. Save the Children Australia’s program breadth can be demonstrated by the number of programs we design and directly implement, or fund partners to implement on our behalf.

In order to maximise our positive impact on the lives of children worldwide, we use our international expertise in implementation to support local partner organisation skills throughout the world, which in turn ensures that more projects are undertaken – and more children than ever before are reached through our work. We also tap into Save the Children networks to support programs that are implemented by other Save the Children organisations around the world.

Save the Children Australia continues to pursue its founder's concept of children's rights. We aim to ensure that all children, regardless of gender, race, country of origin or religious belief have the means for survival, receive protection and have access to nutrition, primary health care and basic education.

Save the Children Australia is a member of the International Save the Children Alliance, which comprises 27 member countries and works in more than 100 countries worldwide. 

Save the Children works for:

Our vision, as listed above, underpins all the work that Save the Children Australia undertakes. Save the Children Australia continues its work in Australia, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Lao PDR, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Vanuatu and Vietnam, where its innovative and realistic program work have helped enhance Save the Children's excellent reputation.

Save the Children has never seen its work as an act of charity.

Children have the right to be healthy and well educated, protected from violence and abuse.

Children have the right to speak out, telling us what they want and what they expect from us.

Children have the right to join in the decisions made about their own futures.
