August, Thursday 7 – Monday 11: South of River Branch Book Sale
Commencing at 6pm on Thursday 7th a huge variety of pre-loved books, sheet music, cd’s, dvd’s will be on sale. This year the sale will be held at the Cannington Exhibition Centre located on the corner of Albany Highway and Station Street, Canningtion. August, Friday 22 – Wednesday 27: University of Western Australia Book Sale
Held in the undercroft of Winthrop Hall at the University of Western Australia, Stirling Highway, Crawley. The 45th annual book sale will commence at 6pm on Friday 22nd.
Thousands of pre-loved books, old and rare, militaria, foreign language, children’s and many, many more titles to suit everyone’s taste in literature! Enquiries to (08) 9328 3111 or (08) 9386 3230. Donations may be dropped anytime at the Shenton Park depot, corner of Brockway Rd and Underwood Avenue.
August Thursday 28 - Annual Games Day. The Hills Branch would like to invite you to enjoy a game of Bridge, Euchre, Scrabble or Mahjong at the Glen Forrest Sports Club, McGlew Rd, Glen Forrest between 10am to 3pm. This world famous musical is loved by all and is a must for third term school holidays!

November, Wednesday 26 - Wednesday 3 December: Festival of Trees
This colourful exhibition of tree creations highlight the diversity of creativity within our local artisan community. To be held in the foyer of the Perth Conference and Exhibition Centre in central Perth, corporate supporters have been asked to sponsor each tree depicting their product, brand or culture. All trees will be judged and a People’s Choice Award will be presented to the most original, creative designs at a corporate auction dinner where the trees will be sold. With free entry to view the exhibition throughout the seven days, this is definitely worth noting in your diary.

December, Saturday 6: Just Jazz concert
Come along and hear the most talented up and coming musicians from three local schools. St Hilda’s Anglican School for Girls host this year’s combined schools Just Jazz concert. Joined with Christ Church Grammar School and Methodist Ladies College, this afternoon presents a wonderful array of music. Sing along to your favourite tunes and enjoy cake whilst enjoying cake and refreshments.
