Handel

The sublime music of George Frideric Handel and his extraordinary life story are brought to vivid life in this stunning musical drama at Melbourne Arts Centre on Saturday 16 August 2008.

Live on stage, the great 18th century composer - played by actor Peter Whitford in full period dress - faces a 21st century interview with Mary Kostakidis as interlocutor.

And interlacing the dialogue, over 350 singers and musicians, including principal soloists from Opera Australia, will perform a selection of Handel’s most glorious compositions.
