Chocolate Lovers' Ball a delightful success

The major annual fundraiser of the Tasmanian division was held at Wrest Point on Saturday, August 18.

With Cadbury as the major sponsor, ‘The Chocolate Lovers’ Ball’ is a quality black-tie gala event that has become one of the highlights of Hobart’s social calendar. This year, as guests entered the room they passed through a ‘snowstorm’ into a stunning Winter Wonderland theme. There was fabulous food, wine, entertainment and, of course, abundant chocolates. Highlights of the night included a sensational performance by 10 year old singer-dancer Joshua Wyass-Gates and some entertaining anecdotes from celebrity basketball Olympian, Andrew Gaze. Local actor and entertainer John ‘X’ was host and some great music from one of Hobart’s bands, ‘The Giant Hamsters’ kept everyone on their feet dancing for much of the night.

The event was hailed a success all round, raising over $52,000. Everyone is looking forward in anticipation to the 2008 Chocolate Lovers’ Ball
