What is it?
Finding My Magic is an animated human rights education program. It is an innovative and highly engaging program that essentially brings human rights education to life. It is a series of 12 animated episodes and aims to teach children aged 4 to 11 the importance of their rights and responsibilities as a child. Each episode represents an article from the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) which Australia signed in 1990. Who is it for?
Finding My Magic is a resource that teaches primary school children to better understand their rights and responsibilities through more inclusive, respectful, non-discriminating behaviour. Finding My Magic takes students and teachers on a new journey in each episode, dealing with a range of children's rights and responsibilities, and equipping teachers with the ability to talk to kids about their struggles including racism, bulling, privacy, health and religion in a safe and comfortable environment for the child. Who are the characters?
Australia's favourite athlete Catherine Freeman has provided children with an insight to her own childhood journey in voicing the lead animated character ‘Catherine'. Other characters in the series reflect a diverse multicultural group of children who learn about their rights as children and are provided with key skills to help them through their challenges. When will it be available?
