Save the Children continues to work in the Irrawaddy Delta region, helping thousands of families and their children with life-saving assistance. Children separated from their parents were reunited with their families, provided with health services, received support to return to school and assistance with their emotional and psychological recovery. In the months following Cyclone Nargis, Save the Children staged one of the largest emergency responses in its history, helping 137,000 children return to school, supporting 40,000 families with cash grants and providing 60,000 people with safe drinking water. While commercial areas have recovered well, some remote regions hit by the cyclone are still struggling. Save the Children continues to work with communities to prepare for future disasters and has worked to improve the lives and wellbeing of children and families in Myanmar for the past 14 years. To help children and families affected by emergencies, like Cyclone Nargis, donate to our Children's Emergency Fund.
