Give a child the best start to life this Christmas
Many children still miss out on an all-important education. Donate today and help more children in Australia and around the world get the best start to life, like having access to an early education. - Save the Children runs over 80 early learning programs, mostly playschemes, in communities across Australia. Playschemes are like a playgroup but with structured activities and trained staff.
- Children up to the age of five come to a weekly session with their parents where they take part in structured activities like singing, reading and having a healthy snack together.
- Qualified early childhood workers and teachers provide educational activities to help children prepare for the all-important transition to kindergarten and school.
- Family support workers also work at many of the playschemes providing families with advice, skills and links to vital support services.
- Many of our playschemes are mobile - this means we take the playschemes out to areas that are socially or geographically isolated where children may otherwise miss out on an early education.
- In 2010, Save the Children reached 10,000 children through our early learning programs in Australia. Find out more about our early learning programs.
Children who receive an early education make a smoother transition into primary school. They also enjoy improved language, social and emotional skills. Please send a gift today and help children in Australia and around the world start life on the front foot.
Your gift today of: - $20 can provide healthy food for a playscheme for a day

Every child in Australia and around the world deserves the best start to life. Thank you for your support.
