Save the Children Western Australia held its first annual Imagine Ball on 2 September, 2011 at the Esplanade Hotel Fremantle. "Thanks for such a wonderful evening last Friday. The ball was wonderful and the team that we took with us had a fantastic time. It was truly magical. Please let us know next year when you are running it again."
The Imagine Ball 2011 was held at the historic Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle. Guests arrived early and enjoyed champagne and canapés in the Indian Ocean suite while being entertained by the Twisted Vaudeville Circus performers, they then entered ‘through the looking glass' into the magical world of the ballroom. With oversized playing cards cascading from the corners of the room, antique high tea sets nestled into rich green grass on every table and a huge chess board dance floor all set up and ready to be played, Alice's wonderland came to life.
Our amazing Master of Ceremonies, much loved Perth actor Sam Longley lead us through an action packed evening. A spine tingling performance by Christine Anu, a fast paced and competitive Grand Auction hosted by Tiny Holly and a packed dance floor during Daren Reid and the Soul City Groove was backed up by the incredible work of VJZoo and the beautiful images of the children of the Dampier Peninsula. There were over 370 guests, 23 volunteers, 7 photographers (including those sent by the media), 68 items in the silent auction amounting to a retail value of over $50,000, 7 items in the major auction. Including the entertainers, the AV company and the Esplanade Hotel Food and Beverage Team there were a lot of people exposed to save the Children on the night. "Best night out we have had since our wedding" Special thanks to all of our sponsors for the night: The Esplanade Hotel, MadFish Wines, Perth Web Design, AV Partners, Heyder and Shears, The Premiers Office, 121 Creative, Visual Inspirations, VJZoo, Twisted Vaudeville Circus, Lance Chicote Photography, Red Carpet Photography, and Mark de Cruz Photography.
