Once you have decided you would like to include a gift to Save the Children Australia in your Will, it is important that it is included in your Will correctly. This ensures that, when the time comes, your gift can be given to Save the Children without any legal complications or difficulties. We recommend that your solicitor or legal adviser uses the following wording: "I give, free of all duties and taxes... [please insert the appropriate statement(s) selected from 1-7 below] - the whole of my estate (or ______% of my estate)
- the residue of my estate (or _____% of the residue of my estate)
- the sum of $__________
- ________ units / shares in ________ [insert name of company / companies]
- my real property (or _______% of my real property) situated at _____________________________ [insert address of property / properties] having the title reference ___________________ [insert title reference]
- the proceeds from the sale of ________________________________________ [insert reference to specific item(s) such as artwork, jewellery, furniture etc.] as liquidated by the executor of my estate
- life insurance policy no. ________________ held by ______________________ [insert name of life insurance company]
to Save the Children Australia (ABN 99 008 610 035) to be used for its general purposes. The official receipt of the organisation shall be a full and sufficient discharge to my executor(s) / trustee(s)." You can download a printable version of our suggested wording for your Will here.
