The importance of philanthropic support Save the Children relies on the generosity of individual philanthropists, trusts, foundations and private ancillary funds (PAFs) to deliver innovative programs and services that address the needs of the most vulnerable children and communities in Australia and overseas. Our philanthropic partners support a range of programs that create immediate and lasting change in children's lives throughout Australia, Asia, the Pacific and Africa. In Australia we work in communities across all states and territories delivering transformational programs to children living in disadvantaged urban areas and to others living in rural and remote locations. Our work is focused on improving children's well being and life outcomes by delivering early childhood education, youth engagement, and children protection and family support programs. Overseas, we work to ensure that children everywhere no longer die from preventable diseases, have the opportunity to learn and grow through access to education, and are safe and protected from harm. In doing so, we save the lives of millions of children each year and give a better chance in life to millions more. Working with us to help childrenDonors may direct their support to a specific project or to an area or location of particular interest to them. We provide detailed project proposals to potential donors along with detailed budgets so you can be sure your investment is being well spent. Throughout the term of the grant, donors are kept informed of the program progress and the long term sustainable impact of their funding through detailed evaluation and financial reports. In some cases, it might also be possible for donors to visit the project they have funded.
