Janosh Biczok Marketing Intern with Save the Children

Janosh Biczok has been volunteering in the Marketing Department at Save the Children for the past few weeks. Janosh said 'this Volunteer Internship has taught me so much already. I have especially learnt a lot from the Marketing Director, Howard. If I had him as my Uni lecturer I would be doing even better! I also love interacting with all the staff, they are a lot of fun!'. We asked Janosh if he would recommend Save the Children to others and he said 'For shizzle'.

Studens from Scone High School support our Knit One Save One campaign

Students from Scone High School have been knitting up a storm during their lunchtime. The students have managed to collect 618 knitted squares which will be sewn into blankets for our Knit One Save One campaign. Thanks to these students, we are able to keep a further 40 children warm this winter.

Ris Grosvenor, Save the Children Volunteer

Ris Grosvenor has been a resident of Victor Harbor for more than sixty years, which most certainly makes her one of Victor Harbor’s senior citizens.   A living historian, who can comment first hand on the development and the changes in Victor Harbor.  Ris has volunteered in Save the Children’s Victor Harbor Store for 10 years and enjoys her time in the store and has made some very special friends. She boasts that she has no need to use a calculator to add up the days takings, and this lovely lady who has seen so many changes is happy to be able to lend a helping hand.

Dorothy Greenwood, Save the Children Volunteer

Dorothy Greenwood describes her life’s journey as a happy one. Despite living through the depression and experiencing hard times, Dorothy has fond memories of freedom and trust with no thought of locking doors or fearing for children. Dorothy has been a volunteer with Save the Children’s Victor Harbor Store since early 1999.    “I am so happy that even at this age I am able to contribute a little to helping children. The volunteers who I meet here are so kind and caring.”

Pat Reaney and her team of Save the Children Volunteers

Pat Reaney recently celebrated her 91st birthday, and has volunteered with Save the Children’s Christies Beach store for 31 years. She loves spending time in the store and has met some lovely people along the way. Last year for her 90th birthday all the volunteers at the store got together to help Pat celebrate this milestone, and up until last year Pat was still driving her car.
