High Tea at the Lodge raises $15,000 for children most in needSave the Children Australia raised $15,000 during a special event at the residence of the Prime Minister in Canberra on Sunday. High Tea at the Lodge raised funds for the Children's Emergency Fund, which is used to help children caught-up in conflict and disaster like the floods that have ravaged parts of Victoria and New South Wales in recent weeks.
Speakers included Suzanne Dvorak, Chief Executive Officer and Scott Gilbert Director, Programs and Humanitarian Response at Save the Children as well as Marion Grasby our ambassador.

Geraldine Velez joined Save the Children in June 2010 as the ACT Development Coordinator, having been a long time supporter of the organisation before coming on board in an official capacity. Geraldine's background includes work in policy and program fields for various government departments and NGOs, as well as previous experience in the private sector in sales and human resources. Geraldine supports the ACT Council and looks after state operations, community engagement and event management. She is the first point of contact for the Canberra office. The ACT Council is a volunteer group of professional people who give their time to support the work of Save the Children Australia.
