We love Lucy and Hannah. Two dedicated supporters who raised $135 for us by busking at Unley Shopping Centre in Adelaide. Find out how you can fundraise and support our work.

Here in South Australia we've been lucky enough to have a generous bunch of people within the community raise a huge amount of money for our programs - the events throughout 2011 have included dinners, concerts, sausage sizzles and karaoke nights, just to name a few!

• Volunteer Service Awards

His Excellency the Governor Kevin Scarce and his wife Liz Scarce will be hosting a reception at Government House for South Australia's Volunteers who are eligible for Service Awards.

At this function there will be:

22 Recipients for 5 Year Awards (Consisting of some Store Managers, Assistant Managers & Volunteers with 8 or 9 years service)
57 Recipients for 10 Year Awards
15 Recipients for 15 Year Awards
12 Recipients for 20 Year Awards
5 Recipients for 25 Year Awards
2 Recipients for 30 Year Awards

These volunteers work extremely hard, with the majority of them working in our Retail Network. There are another 120 Recipients for 5 Year Awards and these will be handed out at a function later in the year. Details TBA.

Glenside's annual garage and depot days are back on in 2012. Find when the next one is below.

Save the children runs many programs throughout Australia. Some specific programs running in South Australia are; Mobile Play Scheme, Future Parents Program, Finding My Magic.

State Manager

Jason Ware

Jason Ware has been with Save the Children for two years and is the state manager for both Queensland and South Australia. Jason has extensive experience in the not for profit area including work for Cerebral Palsy League of Queensland and Department of Families, Youth and Community Care - Marsden Families Program. During his time at Save the Children Jason has focused on the effective management and development of Programs for disadvantaged children in Queensland and South Australia, Retail Operations (24 retail stores), Fundraising Events and Community Engagement initiatives.
