children need access to education

Around 75 million children around the world do not go to school. More than half - 40 million children - live in countries affected by conflict or war.

In Australia, less than half of all indigenous children received early childhood education in 2008.

75 million children do not go to school

Millions more children around the world drop out of primary school before they receive a basic education.

In developing countries, 46% of secondary school aged children fail to attend secondary school.

Children from minority ethnic groups and the poorest families are less likely to attend school and many are forced to work to support their families.

Access to qualified teachers, reasonable class sizes and a strong curriculum paves the way for a brighter future. Save the Children strives to give these children access to high quality education.
