Charitable Bequests

Ensure your lasting legacy and make a charitable bequest that supports children and their families in need. Find out more about leaving a bequest to charity.

Charitable bequests are a great way to ensure a lasting legacy. By including a charitable bequest in your will to Save The Children you can help future generations of children in need. Below is information on leaving a bequest to charity and the work that donations enable us to continue to do, to help millions of children around the world.

Save The Children is the leading child rights organisation in Australia. We believe every child deserves a bright future. We do everything we can to give children a healthy start in life, the opportunity to learn and protection from harm. When crisis strikes and children are most vulnerable, we rapidly respond to save children's lives. We always make sure children's unique needs are met and their voices are heard. We aim to deliver lasting results for children to help them transform their lives, and the future we share. Here is how you too can make a long-lasting difference by leaving a bequest to our charity.

The Difference You Make With A Charitable Bequest In Your Will

Right now there are millions of children living in poverty, dying of hunger and preventable diseases, at risk of harm, caught in the middle of conflict, without access to education and the basic services and support they need to survive and thrive. For over 100 years we have been defending children’s rights all over the world.

We help millions of children in need and we wouldn't have been able to do it nor continue to do it without the generous donations we receive. We are dedicated to always championing the rights of children and always being there when disaster strikes, where children are most vulnerable. By leaving a bequest to a charity you will help to enable us to continue being there, doing what we can to help as many children as possible. What better way to leave a lasting legacy?

Why Make A Charitable Bequest In Your Will To Our Charity?

  • As one of the world’s leading children’s charities that help with starvation, we ensure every donation we receive reaches as many children as possible.
  • We make sure every dollar donated to us is invested to deliver the best possible outcomes for children at the lowest possible cost.
  • We have measures in place that keep us accountable and ensure our efforts continue to have a positive impact.
  • Over 80% of donations go directly towards program expenditure so you know your charitable bequest truly makes a positive difference to the lives of children.

How To Make A Charitable Bequest In Your Will

When leaving a bequest to a charity you will need to contact your solicitor to let them know that you would like to include a charitable bequest in your will. They will ensure the right wording is used based on your specific wishes. You can also use our suggested wording for leaving a bequest to charity if you are creating your own will. It is also good to discuss your wishes with those closest to you such as family and friends.

If you are a solicitor or executor of a will that includes a charitable bequest to Save The Children, notify us of the charitable bequest in the will as soon as possible and forward a copy of the Will and probate to us, along with any information that you require from us to administer the gift.
