The situation for children in Afghanistan is dire. And it could get catastrophically worse.
Even before the recent crisis, Afghanistan had the second highest number of people facing emergency levels of hunger. Half of all children under five are expected to suffer from malnutrition this year. Now more than 80,000 children have been forced from their homes. Many are left with little or no access to food, shelter, medical care or education.
Our local Afghani staff will be working tirelessly to help children rebuild their lives by:
-
Operating mobile health clinics in remote areas
-
Distributing funds and supplies to help families meet basic needs
-
Providing temporary shelter, blankets and essential items for Afghani families who had to flee their homes.
And here in Australia, we are supporting those who fled with packs of toys for children and psychosocial support resources for parents.
Please donate today to help support Afghan children. You can help provide food, shelter, health care and education for children with nowhere else to turn.
