2025 Annual Report

Supporting children to reach their potential.

Advancing children’s rights through action and advocacy

Throughout 2025, children’s lives were shaped by conflict, climate shocks, rising costs of living and growing pressure on their rights. On top of this, many of the foundations of the ‘rules-based order’ were challenged or dismantled. Despite this volatile context, Save the Children Australia remained strong and stable – and that stability meant we could have greater impact where it mattered most.

From 54 reasons working alongside local communities here in Australia, to our humanitarian teams in conflict zones around the world, or a growing climate change adaptation portfolio in partnership with the Green Climate Fund, our diversified model has continued to help children survive, learn and be protected.

Our impact is driven by our values. In the Pacific, we deepened our commitment to self-determination by backing local leadership and priorities. In Australia, we continued to invest in reconciliation – guided by our First Nations Advisory Committee – and took steps towards a commitment to Truth Telling in a country that we have worked in for 107 years.

Through the Centre for Child Rights and our wider advocacy, we continue to stand up for evidence-based, rights-respecting approaches to youth justice and family safety, and we continue striving to amplify the voices of children and young people in decisions that shape their lives.

All this work is only possible thanks to our supporters, partners, volunteers and staff. Thank you all for your belief in children and in their rights. Together, we can help build a fairer, safer future where every child has the opportunity they deserve.

Our reach in numbers

Measuring our impact is essential to ensuring our programs create meaningful change for children. It helps us refine our approach, address emerging needs, and remain accountable to both the communities we serve and the supporters who make our work possible. In 2025, we reached 969,494 people through 54 reasons in Australia and through our Pacific and International Programs.

Our global humanitarian response

Save the Children Australia is part of a worldwide network committed to delivering life-changing support in times of crisis. In 2025, thanks to our generous donors, we contributed $3.1m to global humanitarian responses, helping communities rebuild and recover.
