Make a Christmas donation to children in need

Christmas is a time of goodwill, giving presents to the people you love and helping people who are having a hard time. Your Christmas gift donations can change the lives of children and their families. Save the Children is a development and aid charity that is dedicated to protecting and helping children in Australia and throughout the world.

Christmas gift donations are a simple and effective way to give hope where it’s most needed. You may also like to donate Christmas presents that will reach children who won’t get a present.

With so many Christmas charity ideas it can be hard to know which one is the best. When looking for charities to donate to for Christmas it’s important to consider both the immediate and long-lasting impact the charity makes. Every day our work includes the tireless protection of children from abuse, exploitation, neglect and harm.

In places like Somalia, drought has placed vulnerable families at risk. Critical water shortages are threatening the lives of children.
Eight-year-old Sahra lives with her family in a remote region of Puntland.
The effects of drought are everywhere. Waterholes are empty. Everything is dry.
Sahra shares, “Because we don't have enough water and food for my family, my sisters and my mother are going hungry. I want to get enough food, enough water and an education.”
But this has not deterred Sahra from having big hopes: “I want to go to school ... The reason I want to go to school is to help my mother and my father. I want to teach my siblings at home so they can go to school and finish university. When I go to university, I will take a book and a pen, and I will learn Somali and English.”
