The challenges facing children today are more complex than ever. Conflict, climate change, increasing inequality and a widening digital divide are threatening to leave millions of children behind. Save the Children believe that to create lasting change, we need to change too.

That’s why we’ve evolved into the Save the Children Group - a portfolio of agile, innovative initiatives united by our common purpose, but using different business models to achieve impact for children. This portfolio brings together the best new ideas, technologies, and agile business models to make the biggest difference to millions of children, families, and their communities.

Right now, there are many innovative solutions being created to help improve the education, health, and safety of children around the world. Save the Children is dedicated to helping these great ideas scale up, and by working together creating a better world for children.

International Programs

Save the Children Australia works in 20 countries across South-East and South-Central Asia, Middle East, Africa, and the Pacific region to deliver evidence-based programs that focus on health, education and protecting children. We work to reach girls and boys caught up in humanitarian emergencies, and make children more resilient to climate change and disasters.

New name, same mission

In 2022 we revealed a new name for our work in Australia – 54 reasons. The children we work with asked for something accessible, relevant, playful and engaging. The name is inspired by the 54 articles in the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. Our services continue to support children and young people to learn, grow, dream big, feel safe and supported.

Library For All

Library For All is one of our diverse ventures that provides access to educational technology solutions, including access to culturally relevant, age appropriate books in a language and context that children can relate to. Without these types of educational tools, children face a lifetime of illiteracy and its consequences, including discrimination, inequality, poor health, and low opportunity.

Inclusive Education

Inclusiv Education is a social enterprise that transforms the lives of learners in excluded communities by increasing access to quality education and training opportunities through education technology. We use an evidence-based approach to meet global challenges in education and digital inclusion and provide EdTech services to promote sustainability, scalability, and inclusion.

Child Wise

Child Wise is a social enterprise providing tailored consulting services designed to help organisations strengthen their child safety practice. We are committed to ensuring the safety and wellbeing of children. Our services are evidence-based and thorough, helping organisations to integrate a child safety mindset into their operations from the boardroom to the basement.

Impact Investment Fund

Our Impact Investment Fund provides loans and equity investments to help start-ups and social enterprises grow. We invest in tech-enabled enterprises aligned to Save the Children’s mission to improve the lives of underserved children. We are looking for opportunities in EdTech, Fin Tech and eHealth to support rapid progress for children globally.

Centre for Humanitarian Leadership

CEI is a social enterprise that believes that good evidence and effective implementation have the power to solve our most pressing social problems. We have a global team working with policy makers, governments, program providers, and funders amongst others to trial, test and evaluate policies and programs to drive more effective decisions and deliver better outcomes.

Retail

Our 80 Op Shops around Australia and our online store sell an array of recycled items from clothes to books and toys to promote the more sustainable approach of a ‘reuse, repurpose, recycle’ circular economy. Plus, all profits generated by our retail activities fund our mission to create better lives for children in Australia and overseas.

Green Climate Fund

Save the Children is the first non-environmental NGO to be accredited to the world’s largest single climate finance mechanism. We will work with national governments and local communities most severely impacted, but not able to access the GCF independently, to design and deliver programs which respond to the challenges of a changing climate.
