Our op shops are temporarily closed. We can’t take your donations right now. Being home for extended periods during this difficult time means many people are looking for ways to clean and declutter their home. This is a great use of time to look at what sparks joy and what might help others in need.
However, while current restrictions are in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, we have temporarily closed all our op shops. This means we can’t take any donated goods in as we currently don’t have the volunteers to process them. But we will be able to take them when we re-open and we urge you to please keep your donations safe at home until then.
When donations are left in front of our stores, they can become damaged by rain or wind, or vandalised. Unfortunately, that’s when donations that could have contributed vital funds to our life-saving work become waste that we have to pay to remove. Paying for waste removal from our op shops takes away from money that we could be spending on feeding children, providing books, and helping families stay together.
Every donation is appreciated
We can’t wait to accept your donations when our shops re-open. Until then, if you’re using this time to clean and clear, please keep your goods aside. You can keep your donations from cluttering the house by keeping them in boxes away from living areas. Try moving donations to tucked away spots like the garage, or a study area. This will keep them safe, away from the elements and ready to be snapped up by a customer in need when we’re able to open our doors again.
We appreciate every donation that we can sell in our op shops. Generous donations to our Save the Children op shops raise much-needed funds for our programs to educate, protect and provide health care for children both at home and overseas.
When we’re able to re-open, we can’t wait to see you and your donations in store. Find a list of our op shop locations here.
