No child should lose their childhood to conflict

Right now, over 450 million children are growing up in conflict zones.

Instead of safety, school, and play, too many children face fear, violence, and loss every day.

We cannot erase what they’ve endured — but together we can help children recover, feel safe again, and remember what it means to be a child.

Your generosity can help protect their right to learn, play and heal.

You can help children heal

Eight-year-old Marah* lives with her family in Gaza. When fighting forced them to flee, Marah cried in fear as bullets struck near her home.

Today, with the support of Save the Children, Marah has a safe place to play and go to school. Slowly, she’s regaining her confidence — and her childhood.

“Children like Marah shouldn’t have to live in fear. They should be free to laugh, play, and dream again.”

Why Give to Save the Children?

What do you do?

We help every child get the chance of a future they deserve. Making sure children stay safe, healthy and learning - finding new ways to reach children who need us most, no matter where they're growing up.

For over a century, we've stood up for children's rights and made sure their voices are heard. With children, for children, we change the future for good.

In 2023 Save the Children Australia directly reached 695,297 people through our services delivered in Australia as 54 reasons and through our International Programs. Our international work spans countries in Africa, the Pacific, South East Asia, South Central Asia and the Middle East.

How much of my donation goes to helping children?

We’re committed to making sure our income is used efficiently, effectively, and responsibly so that every dollar counts. In 2023, 81% of our income went directly to benefit children through our health, education, child protection and humanitarian response programs, and through advocating for child rights and increasing public awareness of international aid and development issues.

Full details can be found in our latest annual report and you can find out more about what to expect from us in our supporter promise.

What happens when you start a regular donation?

Ongoing contributions mean that we can be there for children in crisis, whenever and wherever.

When you become a regular supporter, we will send you a welcome pack in the mail that will contain information about your gift. You will also receive regular email updates to let you know about the impact you’re making for the world’s most vulnerable children.

At the end of each financial year, we will send a tax receipt with all your donations (donations over $2 are tax-deductible), for you to use for your income tax claim.
