URGENT: Children across the Horn of Africa are dying from hunger.

Do Christmas different

24 November 2021, Impact of Our Work

Our op shops have re-opened and we can’t wait to see you!

Save the Children op shops around the country are bursting at the seams with quality clothes, homewares and items you’ll love and treasure.
Over the last couple of months, our shops in NSW and Victoria have been closed in line with lockdown requirements. As our op shops re-open, we’re committed to ensuring staff and customers stay safe and will be complying with all government guidelines regarding density limits, mask wearing, vaccination status and QR code check in.
If you’re not near a local store, or want to beat the Christmas rush, our online shop has hundreds of books, games, records and puzzles. We also offer free Australia-wide shipping with any order over $50.

Christmas shopping for all

This Christmas is a great time to think about buying presents from your local op shop. Save the Children’s op shops are carefully curated to offer high quality items – from clothes and homewares to furniture and books.
When you buy from a Save the Children op shop, you’re assured of great items at a budget price, and the satisfaction of having contributed to saving children’s lives in Australia and around the world. All profits from the op shops go straight back to ensuring kids are healthy, educated and protected from harm.
Buying recycled presents is a great sustainable way to start a new Christmas tradition – one that values environmental credentials, supports kids and doesn’t come with a hefty price tag!
And what do you buy the person who has everything? Why, a gift card of course! Our gift cards come in any denomination you like, and this year have been illustrated by children in our programs.

Donations are welcome

We're also back welcoming any donations you’ve kept aside for us. Please make sure your items are quality items we can re-sell, washed and sanitised ready for the shop floor.
We’re ready to accept high-quality clothing, homewares, books, records, puzzles and more. Some of our stores also accept furniture, whitegoods, rugs and larger electrical items like TV’s. Check with your local store what they can accept for resale before you head over. For odds and ends like spare socks, fabric off-cuts and sewing scraps, you can book a collection with our recycling partner UPPAREL so that clothing waste is reduced.
We can’t wait to see you all back in store!
